Sippin’ on the Square by John Juergens
If you didn’t make it to the Square Monday night (October 6), you missed a great wine and food event. This was the Square Toast for Scholarships put on by the Family and Consumer Sciences Department at Ole Miss. The purpose of the tasting was to raise scholarship funds for students in their program. Sponsorship came from a variety of sources, including the Oxford Convention and Visitors Bureau, several wine brokers in the state, and local restaurants.
One of the most interesting wines presented was by Blue Moon Wines called Giani Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a chillable big red wine with a touch of sweetness for those folks who want to get the potential benefits of red wine, but can’t handle the dry, tannic style of traditional Cabs.
(Partial Reprint from the Oxford Town, Issue 791, Oct 9, 2008)

Three votes for Giani Chillable Cabernet as the evenings best red wine!

Brownstone Chardonnay was the toast of the tasting for these 2 wine lovers
